It’s important to recognize that there are varying levels of training and education associated with the mental health providers and clinical services that are available to consumers. Therapy is often provided by a wide range of professionals including licensed clinical social workers, licensed mental health counselors, Master’s level therapists, and PhD/PsyD psychologists.

    About Dr. Martinez

    I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 16 years of clinical and academic experience. I have a clinical background in neurocognitive assessment, clinical diagnosis, clinical consultation, and cognitive rehabilitation/cognitive health. In my private practice, I specialize in working with high functioning individuals and couples suffering from stress, anxiety, adjustment difficulty, depression, burn out, and interpersonal difficulties. I have extensive experience working with physicians, medical residents, and fellows and have worked in multiple clinical arenas over the span of my career (including academia, private practice, community health, and forensic settings). I have taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and have engaged in wide array of clinical supervision activities for mental health providers (peer supervision, graduate student training, and colleague consultation).

    I utilize an integrated approach to therapy and incorporates aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy, solution oriented therapy, client centered therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness techniques.
